This is a short post to talk about a new company I'm trying who's mission is meaningful to me (not affiliated to me at all!). Imperfect Produce is an online company that seeks to reduce food waste and increase sustainability by selling (for a reduced price) the produce that grocery stores reject due to imperfect shape or size and overproduction from farms. So, nothing is actually nutritionally wrong with it, but cosmetic rejection impacts the environment and Americans (and the worldwide population) that experience food insecurity.
This week was my first time picking up and so far so good. The company does delivery in the East Bay, but right now does not deliver in SF. The boxes range from $11-$43 depending on size and organic verses non organic.
I took a lovely lunchtime walk down the embarcadero to go pick up my box. Man, I wish I had brought a bag! While I did get the small organic box (around $15), it was rather heavy. A lot of bang for your buck! Here's a photo of my haul.
Hi! I'm Amanda and I've been living in SF for the past 4 years. Originally from North Carolina, I love traveling, planning, exploring new places in SF, group exercise, and wine.
